Press Release: The Rebirth

December 12, 2022 By Tina Glasneck

Richmond, VA – USA Today bestselling author and rising artist Tina Glasneck released her debut EP, The Rebirth, a mesmerizing collection of emotional tracks that take listeners on a captivating journey.

Filled with raw and powerful vocals, thought-provoking lyrics, and heart-wrenching melodies, The Rebirth showcases Glasneck’s incredible range and artistic vision.

The Rebirth features six heartfelt tracks that showcase Glasneck’s unique blend of melodic and hauntingly beautiful vocals and thought-provoking lyrics. From the upbeat “Rock Shark” to the soul-stirring ballad “Love and Loss,” each track offers a powerful message of resilience and determination. Created to provide readers an even more immersive experience with her forthcoming book, Make Me Howl, Glasneck says that she “wrote the music to have a new way for readers to connect with her fiction world, and the story’s paranormal romance.”

Glasneck is truly a renaissance woman, braiding her talent for storytelling into her music. She is especially proud of the first single released, “Vibe with Me,” which started off as a poem, and is one she included in the actual story of the Make Me Howl, set to release in January 2023.

“I poured my heart and soul into these songs while connecting with these fictional characters,” Glasneck said of the EP. “I want people to feel something when they listen to them, and to be inspired to keep pushing forward no matter what challenges they face.”

Glasneck’s emotive vocals and powerful lyrics have already caught the attention of music critics and fans alike. With the release of The Rebirth, she is poised to make a big impact on the music scene.

“Haunting emotions, unrequited love and heartache, the perfect recipe for the last teen mellow drama, or angst-ridden motion picture,” said Kristen Mondo, a freelance music reviewer about Glasneck’s “Vibe with Me.” “[It] truly seems to be the example of musical prose. [Glasneck’s] music will appeal to lovers of pop, pop/rock, movie soundtracks and teen pop.”

The Rebirth is available now on all major streaming platforms. Don’t miss your chance to experience the emotional journey of Tina Glasneck’s The Rebirth.

Behind-the-Music: Love and Loss

December 11, 2022 By Tina Glasneck

We deserve to be loved and there is nothing wrong with walking away from a situation that doesn’t give you what you need.

As you know, I bleed on the page – be it with books or even in my music.

As I created this soundtrack for my book world, I wanted to deal with something that we don’t always talk about… unrequited love.

I wrote the song ‘Love and Loss’ to explore the pain and heartache of unrequited love. My characters take me on eye-opening journeys for sure. This rock ballad weeps emotion as it grapples with the idea that sometimes, love isn’t enough.

Through powerful and heartfelt lyrics, ‘Love and Loss’ captures the raw and vulnerable emotions of longing and loss. It speaks to the pain and frustration of loving someone who doesn’t love you back, and the realization that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can’t make someone love you.

But ‘Love and Loss’ is more than just a sad song – it’s a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is hope. It’s a reminder that we are strong enough to survive heartbreak and that we can find the strength to move on and heal.

I hope that ‘Love and Loss’ will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the pain of unrequited love, and that it will provide some comfort and solace in their journey toward healing and hope.

Listen to ‘Love and Loss’ now and let its emotive rock melodies and powerful lyrics take you on a journey of love, loss, and the power of resilience.

Many of the tracks on the CD remind me of what you’d hear on a CW drama like The Vampire Diaries, music filled with “haunting emotions, unrequited love and heartache, the perfect recipe…for a teen mellow drama, or angst-ridden motion picture.”

Stream the CD, add it to your playlist, and if you’d like to, order a signed copy of The Rebirth!

Love and Loss

December 10, 2022 By Tina Glasneck

There is always a behind-the-music story about how a track comes to be. It is not always as simple as pricking a finger and bleeding on the page. In this case, it is truly diving into the soul and creating from nothing more than a feeling.

One of my favorite tracks from The Rebirth EP is ‘Love and Loss.’

This song came to me one Sunday, and I couldn’t get it out of my head. It was as if the universe was speaking to me. I found myself humming it.

Creating it took me on this emotional journey.

I, however, require what I call the spark!

Everyone has a process to create. For me, the true test is whether the idea sticks. If it isn’t a fleeting idea but continues to show up, that is the spark.

As a creative soul, I create daily, be it while writing my personal books, plot doctoring, marketing and copywriting, or songwriting. Everything has to have a hook to take flight or come crashing back to the ground. It has to compel me, cause me to feel someone, or even see something.

This one was very different from other songs, even the process because it all came together in indescribable ways. I sang it so much around the house before recording that it became a constant. Humming it while cooking dinner, recalling the lyrics while singing in the shower.

But this is just the beginning.

We’ve been on this creative journey and I’m not ready to quit anytime soon.

So, if you haven’t downloaded, saved, or streamed The Rebirth, give it a listen and feel the raw emotions.

December 9, 2022 By Tina Glasneck

Don’t Miss Out on Tina Glasneck’s Highly Anticipated New Release

This morning I cried… but they were tears of joy.

I headed over to Amazon music, typed in my name, and my EP popped up.

Yep, The Rebirth is now live and streaming!

This project means so much to me. I never thought it possible, but that is the thing about change. When life provides us with opportunities to create beauty, we have to leap, believing that, which is on the other side, will catch us. Even if no one else gets the vision, the dream, the purpose.

It is the hours of tears, sweat, and self-doubt, and despite it all, pushing through.

It is the time and resources.

It is the staying the course, the persistence.

It is the undeniable creative force bringing into this reality what was only a dream.

Each of the tracks on this EP contains a piece of my creative soul.

Thank you, everyone, who has supported me on this journey, as I pursue different creative avenues, find new ways to express myself, and truly find my voice!

My heart is full.

Understanding Urban Fantasy Fiction & the Importance of Diversity

December 8, 2022 By Tina Glasneck

What if magic existed, as well as the supernatural and paranormal, only hidden?

Welcome to Urban Fantasy, a genre that has it all.

When I say Urban Fantasy, you might think of The Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill or the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. It’s where the supernatural is real, in the shadows, and fantasy collides with a contemporary setting.

Urban Fantasy, though, also offers so much more.

What is Urban Fantasy?

But first, what is Urban Fantasy?

Urban fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy that is set in a contemporary, urban setting. This type of fiction often features supernatural elements, such as vampires, werewolves, and other creatures hidden among the human population. The stories often revolve around the conflict between these supernatural beings and humans and may explore themes of good vs. evil, the supernatural in everyday life, and the power of belief.

Diversity in Urban Fantasy

I like to think of it as we find the magic into “the every day,” along with the problems of what it might mean if that secret is revealed to the mass population. Although Urban Fantasy is similar to paranormal romance, paranormal romance focuses on the romance of the couple, while Urban Fantasy spotlights more of the mystery, suspense, and horror elements of the genre.

Representation Matters

Representation in fiction is important, as we all wish to see ourselves in the worlds we read about.

I choose to write diverse characters, as the characters that come forth often appear as a part of my life. It is me, seeing myself as a black woman in an urban setting with magic being real and everything possible. Sure, in fiction, this evil can be metaphorical, but writing urban fantasy also gives me the power to come up with applicable solutions to defeat a big bad in a book that might not be as conquered in my reality.

I write a world in which I am a part, one that is filled with diverse and interesting characters.

Diversity is not a monolith

No culture or people group is a monolith. I write from my experiences, my joy, and my happiness. You might even say, it’s my divine magical spark. Life peppers my fiction (but fiction the stories remain).

There is another reason that diversity is so important. It allows readers an opportunity to see also themselves, their worldviews, and their experiences reflected in the stories they read. Even more, we can learn about others by reading stories outside our everyday purview. Therefore, such reading can also help to broaden readers’ understanding of the world and promote empathy and understanding. When diverse characters are included in urban fantasy stories, it can add depth and richness to the narrative and make the story more relatable and engaging for a wider range of readers.

Urban Fantasy casts spells on us daily. Through those tales, we find magic, conjure up a bit of magic, and come to terms with ways to defeat the threat of evil. We can take strength. We hold onto the beauty of these tales, the passions they stir, and the calls to an adventure we hear. Through the lessons, we learn to live authentically, never cowering to the threat of evil in this reality, even if we can’t all be drafted into a werewolf v. vampire war.
