Why this book?

Since Zero Hour, the prequel tale, Unicorns have been in the background of the Order of the Dragon world.

Unicorns and vampires have been warring for as long as anyone can remember. The unicorns are noble, sworn to protect mortals from harm. The vampires are a treacherous and evil race, hell-bent on enslaving humans for their dark purposes. For centuries, the two sides have fought each other to a standstill. But now, the unicorns are in retreat, and the vampires are on the march. Unless something is done, vampires will drive the unicorns into extinction, and the vampires will rule the world…

That is part of why the Order is so important. The organization ensures continued safety for its members and that the vampires, who’ve proven to be primarily diabolical, don’t drive the unicorn to extinction. 

It is a battle against time and opportunity.

That’s why we should care about unicorns and vampires: they’re our last hope against a dark future.

A future the Order wants to keep on track despite maleficent attempts.

And Leslie? For Leslie, she might be a vampire (one created from dragon blood, according to the Norse tradition of the Draugr, and she still has that sense of duty, to use her newfound “gift” to help others…to be a light when darkness is all around.

I applaud Leslie and her delightful way of ensuring we don’t allow the darkness around us to snuff out our light. And that is why it was time for me to re-release this story (it was initially released as a part of the Love and Legends anthology). When things go dark, it doesn’t mean we have to give up and allow that darkness to define who we are. Our actions define that for us.

Making books accessible has been on my mind, and with so many different formats – ebooks, print, and audiobooks, I knew something had to change…

and I’m so happy finally to share the great news!!!

This month, I’ve been thinking about accessibility, especially when we feel so alone and have so many things happening.

So, after much thought and figuring out the how, I came up with my solution: Audiobooks.

Not just one audiobook, but getting them all done so that people can read with print, ebook, or even listening. 

It will allow you to journey with me whenever and wherever you are. 

So, with that in mind, I’ve uploaded the first full audiobook on Youtube to give readers a chance to enter this magnificent world.

I have several available for sale- both with human narration and those created with AI. The AI is very well done for google, and I think it will be a game changer in accessibility and inclusiveness.

And to get you started, I’m offering the first one, Hellbent, for free on Youtube for August! I love how AI-generated storytelling has improved over the years, too.

I’m so happy to reveal the new look for A Half-Cocked Vampire in time for Christmas in July!

The entire Order of the Dragon series has been revamped and separated into different sections (as the series as a whole was getting too long).

Now, you’ll find the main stories will be in the Order of the Dragon series, including Zero Hour, Once Bitten, Twice as High, Three Little Words, A Half-Cocked Vampire, and Four Times the Fight.

I’ve newly created the Order of the Dragon Series: Side Quest. Here you’ll find all of the amazing in-between books like A Vampire Gives No Quarter, Bite Me, and A Vampire’s Blessing. This series will celebrate not only Leslie but others in the series, like Claudine, and can be read in any order.

Lastly, with the successful Kickstarter, we’ve started a new series with the wolves, and it is called The Order of the Dragon Wolf’s Den: Decadence Series. Here you’ll find the sexy PNRs with the wolves, which includes the forthcoming Make Me Howl and Charming Like A Wolf.

At this time, splitting up the series allows us to have the same heat, expectations across series, and cover design branding. The cover for Charming Like A Wolf will also be updated soon to reflect this new branding.

Yes, it’s a lot, but it will make it much better! Yay!

Why this Kickstarter project? Why now? In 2021, we found ourselves in the midst of a pandemic, and like many, I sought to create. But my health had other ideas. Instead of thriving, my body was barely surviving, and in April 2021, I grew quite ill.  I tried at-home remedies, not understanding what was happening – hoping that I just needed to kick my feet up and rest.  Maybe I was overworking myself, I thought.  But when things didn’t improve, I finally went to the doctor. This resulted in a slew of medication and a treatment plan.   Yet, instead of improving things worsened. My lovely ochre skin took on a grayish hue, my eyes dimmed, and I grew so weak that I could barely walk up the stairs in my house, let alone try to leave it.I was a prisoner in my body, trapped, as a tsunami of darkness threatened to pull me under. I didn’t know what to do…where to go, and in finding no answers, I knew I needed to advocate for myself, too. One day, while feeling overwhelmingly weak, I had a talk with myself, and I promised that once I got better, I’d never allow myself merely to survive.  Instead, I would kick down doors, blaze paths, and discover new ways to thrive.I’d shake off all doubts and become the Tina of my dreams.  Finally, with my iron levels so low, emergency surgery was the answer. During my months of recovery, that is when Sunflower and Killian truly showed up. But for Sunflower, she wished to communicate only through heart-wrenching poetry. She took me along this journey of healing, loss, unrequited love, and self-discovery. I truly believe that it is the words of story that saved me, giving me hope, to choose the life of my dreams over the fear that sought to pull me into an eternal slumber, and this I do not write lightly…  For in the power of story I found strength.
